Housing with care

Our Extra Care Schemes are fully self-contained flats where people have their own front door and tenancies, which gives you security of tenure and the right to control who enters your home. On-site care and support is available and will be delivered as set out in your support plan.
They offer a safe and secure environment with the privacy of your own home and your own front door. It is an environment for people who want to remain independent but who may need some additional support now or in the future.

You will be supported to live independently as your needs change over time, as long as the scheme can meet your care and support needs. The scheme cannot give nursing care.

Benefits

• Provides a safe, accessible and secure place to live
• You can make friends and socialise with others, which reduces the risk of you feeling lonely, this means you can socialise as and when you feel like it.
• It is specialised housing with care.
• We have one and two bedroom properties. All have a wet room.

• Renting this type of accommodation means you have an assured tenancy, which means you have certain rights under housing law as a tenant; this distinguishes it from care homes where residents do not have tenancy rights and are licensees only.
• You have privacy as well as choice about how much you mix with the other residents.
• You are supported to maintain your independence for longer.
